GL Setup Options allow the user to set the parameters of the module to meet the particular needs of individual companies.
Fiscal Year Maintenance is used to define the periods that make up the fiscal year, including: the number of periods, and the ending dates for the periods defined.
Rollup Codes are used to define reporting levels outside of the chart of accounts coding. Categories must first be established in the GL Options, and codes for each of the Rollup categories or ‘Types’ are defined and associated in Rollup Code Maintenance.
Account Structure is used to define or modify the actual account structure or layout. You can determine the segment size and give a description that identifies the segment’s use.
Account Group Maintenance is used to categorize GL accounts for reporting purposes. On financial reports Account Groups are used to determine the placement of subtotals
Main Account Maintenance is used to define valid values for the natural account segments (first segment) created in Account Structure Maintenance. These values are used when defining actual posting accounts in Account Maintenance.
